WatchNest (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our TV show tracking application handles your information.

Information We Collect

Local Data Storage

WatchNest stores all user data locally on your device. We collect and store:

• User Profile Information:

  • Profile photo (if uploaded)
• TV Show Tracking Data:
  • Favorite shows list
  • Watchlist
  • Episode watch history
  • Show ratings (1-10 scale)
  • Personal notes on shows
  • Notification preferences

Data We Do NOT Collect

• ❌ No personal identification information (email, phone number, real name)

• ❌ No browsing history
• ❌ No device information
• ❌ No analytics or tracking data
• ❌ No third-party data sharing

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to:

1. Display your tracked TV shows and episodes
2. Send local notifications for upcoming episodes (if enabled)
3. Organize your watchlist and favorites
4. Provide personalized show recommendations based on your favorites

Data Storage

• All data is stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences
• No data is transmitted to external servers
• No cloud backup or sync (your data stays on your device)
• Data persists until you uninstall the app or use the “Delete All Data” feature

Third-Party Services

TVMaze API

WatchNest uses the TVMaze API to fetch TV show information:

• We send requests to TVMaze servers to retrieve show details, episodes, cast information, and images
• Only show-related queries are sent (no personal user data)

Image Caching

We use CachedNetworkImage to cache show posters and episode images locally for better performance. No personal data is involved in this process.

Notifications

• Local notifications are generated on your device
• No push notification servers are used
• You can enable/disable notifications in the Profile settings
• Notification data includes only show names and episode air dates

Data Security

• All data is stored locally using Flutter’s secure storage mechanisms
• No network transmission of personal data
• No encryption needed as data never leaves your device

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• View: All your data is accessible within the app
• Edit: Modify your username, profile photo, and tracking data anytime
• Delete: Use “Delete All Data” in Profile > Settings to permanently remove all data
• Export: Currently not available (data stays local)

Children’s Privacy

WatchNest does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages as it only tracks TV show viewing habits locally.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in this document with an updated “Last Updated” date.

Data Deletion

To delete all your data:

1. Open WatchNest app
2. Go to Profile tab
3. Tap Settings
4. Scroll down and tap “Delete All Data”
5. Confirm deletion

Alternatively, uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data.
